NSW Pre-Provisional Course

The Pre-Provisional Rider Training course runs for approximately 7.5 hours, and is best completed on your own, LAMS approved motorcycle. (If required you can hire a motorcycle from HART. This can be arranged at the time of booking.)

To obtain a Certificate of Competence at the end of the course, you must demonstrate confidence and competence throughout the course and, at the end of the day successfully complete the Motorcycle Operator Skills Test (MOST).

The Certificate of Competence is valid for 3 months from the date of issue. You must take the Certificate to Service NSW within this 3-month period and pay a new licence fee in order to be issued with your Provisional licence.

To complete Pre-Provisional Motorcycle Rider Training Course, you need:

• To be at least 17 years old and have held your learner rider’s licence for at least 3 months.
• A valid Learners Licence (check your Learner Expiry Date on the lower left side of your licence.)
• A demonstrable degree of riding confidence and competence

Please arrive at least 20 minutes before the scheduled start time. This is essential as you will not be allowed to join the course once it begins and course fees are non-refundable if the you arrive late.

Five working days’ notice is required to change all bookings, and a 10% administration fee will apply with no refunds available for the following situations

• Lateness in attending the course
• Proof of identity issues
• Delays caused by traffic or motor vehicle incidents
• Bad weather conditions
• Failure to attend your course or remedial lesson
• Incorrect attire (long pants, long sleeves & closed in shoes required)
