Operate side by side utility vehicles

The accredited training and assessment will be conducted by HART in partnership under Getabout Training Services’ responsibility and direction. All students will be enrolled with Getabout Training Services (RTO: 90547) and responsible the quality of training and assessment provided, issuing of statements of attainment for units of competency on scope.

AHCMOM216 Operate side by side utility vehicles - This current unit explores the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a side by side vehicle. This includes undetaking pre-start checks and shut down procedures.

Upon the completion of this unit, you will be able to:

• Shut down side by side utility vehicle
• Identify and report malfunctions, faults, irregular performance or damage to supervisor
• Park and secure side by side utility vehicle
• Remove and store keys in the required location
• Unload, load and secure side by side utility vehicle safely
• Maintain vehicle use records for servicing purposes in line with workplace practices

This course is delivered in person, by an experienced instructor over a 5 hour period.

HART has an existing auspice arrangement with Getabout training to offer its customers training in a Side x Side vehicle. All course paperwork, helmet and gloves and Side x Side vehicles are provided by HART and included in the course fee. An additional fee is payable if the participant does not bring along their own SSV. The participants are required to wear full body coverage clothing wise and closed toe footwear. If they have a USI the SSV course will be recognised nationally in Australia. A driving licence is not required to complete the course.

Five working days’ notice is required to change all bookings, and a 10% administration fee will apply with no refunds available for the following situations

• Lateness in attending the course
• Delays caused by traffic or motor vehicle incidents
• Bad weather conditions
• Failure to attend your course or remedial lesson
