The HART Kids Off Road Level 1 course is a three-and-a-half hour course designed to introduce children who have not previously ridden a motorcycle, or have minimal experience, to motorcycle riding. HART can safely introduce your child to riding and ensure they are taught the correct technique from day one. This course is suitable for inexperienced, novice riders and is a lot of fun, improving balance, coordination and concentration.
This course suits children aged 6 – 12 years old (55kg weight limit including riding gear due to bike capacity).
Rest assured that with a maximum ratio of 1 instructor to 4 students, your child will receive high quality training.
Children can progress to complete the Kids Off Road Level 2 course.
A Parent or Guardian must be with the child for the duration of the course and may be asked to assist in certain areas during the course.
On the day
Riding a motorcycle requires a high level of balance, coordination and concentration. We are not born with these skills and everyone will learn them at their own pace. Being able to confidently ride a bicycle without training wheels is important, as balancing a bike is fundamental to riding a motorcycle well.
For your own safety and the safety of others, the instructor may stop you from riding during the course. If you are stopped from riding, HART will give you a free 1 on 1 session with an instructor.
Plan to arrive at HART at least 20 minutes before the scheduled start time. If you arrive after the course has started, you will not be allowed to join the course. Due to the nature of the training, HART is unable to catch riders up or let them join a course that has already started. It is important that you arrive at least 20 minutes before your course start time to avoid disappointment.
Why choose HART?
At HART, we understand that learning to ride a motorcycle is challenging. The quality of the training received has a huge impact on how well riders learn the skills needed. HART regularly audits our trainers and we are confident that our trainers are the best in the industry.
